What we can do with the children
When you were a child you spent summers in the village and now you are afraid of not knowing how to use these days in the cottage to entertain them?
Here are some ideas.
What we can do without having to take the car and at zero cost.
A walk together. Sometimes we tell the children that we are going to do a hiking route and it seems such an odyssey that they don’t want to leave the house. However, if we prepare some sandwiches in the rural house and we tell them that we are going for a snack, surely they will be encouraged.
The ascent to Peña Amaya or a simple walk through the village is ideal for the whole family. Start the walk from the same rural house, no matter how far you get. With luck you will see the herd of sheep or the cows grazing on the fence. It is also a good excuse to introduce them to mushroom hunting. Enjoying the road together, chatting about your daily life, listening to stories, remembering children’s songs… and making a stop along the way to share a snack.

2. When the weather is not suitable for going outside. We dedicate some time to do a puzzle, read a story or a comic, play a game of trivia, play Parcheesi, practice with dominoes, teach them simple card games like broom, …you will have a nice time for sure and they will be happy to do something together.
And when the sun comes out, we go out to the garden to play petanque, while having a drink on the porch.
3. At nightfall: contemplate the moon and the stars. It is a real luxury to contemplate the full moon, the Milky Way, the Big Dipper … Have you ever howled in the moonlight? no? this is a good occasion. The entertainment is guaranteed and if you have a telescope the show will be greater.
4. And when these resources are exhausted: there is always wifi.
